We recently attended an 80’s rock show at the Barnyard Theatre in Willowbridge, Cape Town. This is a great place to go with friends and family because the atmosphere is lively and vibrant, with the cast often interacting with the audience. They had us standing up, singing, and dancing along to the best hits of the 80’s. We went in a group of ten, and of course, we all knew the words to the songs that were being performed. Even Tayla, who is eleven this year, was singing. It’s hard not to be a fan of 80’s music, no matter when you were born! Justin had never been to a show like this, but this was my third Barnyard show. There is a snack and drinks bar at the theatre, with a tasty pizza menu too. We decided to organise our own food, and buy drinks before the show started.
Elijah was completely memorised by the lights and sounds, so he sat completely still, moving only to eat and then take a nap on mommy’s lap. When he woke up, he sat wide-eyed, staring at the stage once more. After the show, some of us went to have coffee at a cafe nearby. It was a wonderful afternoon, and we wish that we could do things like this with our friends in China.
What a great experience!
