Yesterday was a pretty amazing day. Besides all the fun that Elijah and I had over here, on a gorgeously sunny day, in China. One of my nearest and dearest friends in South Africa had her little baby girl. We have been chatting non-stop on Whatsapp since I left Cape Town in March, and to hear the news that her sweet baby girl had arrived, made me so happy! Not only do we have over 20 years of memories already made, but the last few months have been super special and I feel blessed to have been even just a small part of it all. When I went home in 2013, Samantha was one of my bridesmaids. Fast forward two years, and I find myself back in S.A, and it’s her turn to get married. I took some maternity pictures for Samantha in February, I was a bridesmaid for her in March, I made her some fairy-themed crafts for her little girl’s room, and yesterday I got to share in the excitement of her first child’s birth. Thank goodness for technology!
Sam told me that her daughter’s nursery theme would be Fairies in purple and teal, so I made her a few things for the walls. I will do another post on those soon. I think it is absolutely perfect that this little fairy princess was born on Earth Day. April 22nd certainly was a great day for her to make her way into the world! I spent Earth Day meeting new people, getting coffee at Starbucks, shopping, and taking Eli to meet some new baby friends. I went to a Trash to Treasure Party, and swapped out some of my old accessories for some “new” ones. I really love this idea, and again, it was perfect that we had the party on Earth Day. Nothing like recycling some old accessories that you don’t want anymore. I’ll have to do another post on that too because it was a lot of fun!
