After a day of explorations on the beautiful island of Bali, we really loved to climb into the swimming pool and unwind there. Elijah would sometimes be with us, and other days he’d be taking a late afternoon nap. Either way, our room was right next to the pool, so he was never too far away. The staff at Indigo Villa were happy to bring cocktails and Bintangs (beers) to us while we floated around in the pool. And now matter where we were in the long overflow pool, we could always hear the chilled music playing from the restaurant area, under the massive thatched roof. Looking back now, it is easy to see why we loved our time in Bali so much. We would arrived back at our room and find the door slightly ajar, inside there’d be fresh towels, folded into an animal, on the end of our bed. We’d change into our swimming suits (aka, “swimming costumes”… boy oh boy, do I get teased about my SA lingo for that one!) and then climb into the pool.
Cute photo of a still-half-asleep toddler and his mama. Side note: that is what happens when you let your child swim in a diaper that is not meant for swimming. It swells up… BIG TIME! We would normally let him swim naked if we can’t find a swim diaper fast enough, but he practically dived into the pool after his nap, so we didn’t bother taking it off. Oops!
Drying off and cuddles with daddy. It’s time to think about dinner… Chill at the villa and enjoy a meal from their in-house menu, order in (Bali Buda perhaps? …Yummy!) and watch a movie, or head out for dinner in Ubud? Oh the toughest decisions that you have to make while you’re on vacation – Isn’t it amazing!?
