Silly boy – Yup, that’s Elijah eating a handful for grass. I don’t even want to know what he was thinking, but he kept pulling his face all funny and then doing it again. I love it when it rains in Dallas. All of a sudden the skies open and a torrential downpour begins. The raindrops are massive, and within in seconds, everything outside is drenched. I can’t imagine getting caught in that while out running – I’d probably be darting for cover to protect my iPhone and Fitbit. Haha, if I was free of those things I’d probably keep on going. I just love the rain! After one of these downpours, we took Elijah outside to play. Don’t be alarmed by the fact that he’s playing outside after rain in just a diaper. It’s Dallas. Even when it rains, it’s still over 90 degrees F.
We tried to show Eli how to splash in the puddles but all he did was crouch down to look at his toes, and touch the water. He is not usually very fond of grass, but he seemed to want to eat it when it when it was wet. Strange!
Eli had been swimming with his grandfather every evening, so he didn’t understand why we weren’t getting straight into the pool. As you can see, he tugged at my hand, trying to remove my fingers from his wrist. When I moved with him little closer to the pool, he would stick out his leg, trying to dip his toes into the water. Alarmingly enough, he has no fear of the water and wants to jump right in! If we lived here we would need to get a big pool net because this boy just wants to jump right into the water!
Lots of Love for Grams.
[This post is for you, Grandma Sue]
We took a few pictures of Elijah in a big white bucket so that we could get a similar picture to one that we have of Justin around this age – See that post here – Buckets of Love. After that we let Eli play a little but he couldn’t take his mind off jumping in the pool so we had to take him back inside until Gramps got home from work and they could have their evening swim together.
