Autumn Adventures│On Monday afternoon I bundled Elijah up and took him outside to play. We have been going to a playtime group on Monday mornings. You can see a glimpse at that playtime in THIS VIDEO. Since Eli and I both have a bit of a cold, I thought it would be better to keep him away from the other little ones. Ironically, I think he got the cold last week at playgroup – but oh well, what can you do? Germs are going to spread!
Knowing that a nasty cold-front was moving in this week, I thought I best take him out on Monday before the lowest temperatures hit. Looking outside at the wind and frost right now, I am glad that we chose to go out on Monday! The weather is just nasty at the moment!
I knew that I took some similar photos around the same time last year, so I went back to see what Eli looked like. His hair was long and curly, and he looked much smaller. What surprised me most was that he was only wearing a sweater at the end of November, but I guess the temperature goes up and down every week, so perhaps we were having a warmer week last year around this time.
Have a look at last year’s post on Eli playing in the leaves…. Leaf Play.
And here he is this year… His personality is exactly the same. He won’t stop to look at me for photos. He won’t let me catch up with him. In all respects, he has taught me that if I want to get a good picture of him, then I have to wait, hide, and be FAST! Maybe my next child will love being in pictures, but Eli is just too busy for that nonsense!
Above, Eli looking me in a dusty old mirror that we found next to one of the apartment buildings. I wish I could get more pictures of him looking up at me like that — but as I said, he is on a mission to explore. There are bigger adventures to be had for this little one.
“No time for pictures Mommy, sorry – gotta go!”
