After a much-enjoyed trip up to North Dakota, Elijah and I are back in Texas. We arrived back in Dallas on Tuesday afternoon, and were met by a very excited grandma at the airport. Grams had missed Elijah very much and was excited to get to spend a few more days with us before we made our way back to China. The journey from Medora to Dallas went smoothly, and Elijah was great on both of our flights. We only have three more flights to get through alone, and then we will be back with Justin. Four of the seven flights that we were scheduled to do as just the two of us, have all gone really smoothly. I pray that means the others will too. Elijah is quite a happy traveller but no one loves every flight, and sometimes babies are unpredictable, so I always try to be as well-prepared as possible before we fly off anywhere with him. Snacks, clothes, a blanket, a sippy cup, books, and well-charged electronic devices loaded with movies (in case none of those other things work). Unfortunately, it seems that Eli caught some sort of cold/ flu on one of the flights from North Dakota to Texas. He barely slept at all last night, and he got more and more sick as the day progressed. At one point this afternoon, he looked like a complete zombie. He could barely move, and we could tell that he felt dreadful! With less than two days until we leave, I’m praying that he improves enough for us to fly without him being in too much discomfort. So please say a little prayer for Elijah, and another one for me (pray that I don’t catch what he has). We leave Thursday, late afternoon, and it will take us three flights to get to Qingdao, China.
We are eagerly awaiting our reunion with Justin!
… But we are very much enjoying these last few days with the family.
As always, we appreciate this precious time that we have with them!
