Justin has been reading this Beginner’s Bible to Elijah since he was a tiny baby. They finished it this week and Justin was so happy! Look at his face – Can you tell? We have a great bedtime routine going with Elijah. It was a little crazy after our long vacation in South Africa. Coming back to China was a bit disruptive for little Eli. Although he is petty laid-back, I feel bad for him because it is always a big adjustment for us too. Six weeks is a long time to be away from what you are used to. Now that he’s settled and sleeping well again, we are a bit nervous about the trip to the States this summer. Once again, Elijah will have to adjust to new surroundings, and then readjust when we return to Qingdao. Oh Elijah, you’re such a little champion!
Elijah has a couple of baby/ children Bibles, but Justin decided to read this one since he likes how the stories were worded. Every night he gets to hear one or two stories, and mostly he reads with daddy, helping him turn (and eat) the pages. That’s their bedtime tradition. I sit with them on the floor and then give Eli his last feeding for the day. Justin and I read some prayers for Elijah, and then we lay him down and he’s off to dreamland. This bedroom is tiny and we pretty much sit with our legs crossing each other, but it works for now.
Well done you two! Your first bible complete together in under a year.
Time to start at the beginning again.
