Boxed In. This kid really cracks me up!
We have a couple of black shelves in our lounge. Inside them are black drawers containing various items – cords in one of them, hats and scarves in another, and books for Elijah in the lowest ones. The other day I went to the kitchen to get a snack, and when I returned with a cup of Cherrios for Eli, I found him sitting in one of the shelving drawers. He had emptied out the contains of it, and climbed inside it to sit and watch an episode of Sesame Street. I gave him his Cherrios and then climbed onto the treadmill to do a run. He stayed like this for the rest of the episode, laughing, munching and have a good old time!
The funny thing is that this is not the only container that he likes to climb into. He has a small rectangular plastic container for his puzzle pieces, and somehow he manages to twist himself into that tiny box. In that case it is only his butt, legs, and very squishy feet that fit inside, but he will sit like that and play. I guess he likes the feeling of being tucked in somewhere! As you can imagine, he really likes tunnels and forts.
Elijah often empties out our coffee table drawers (which contain his toys) and climbs into those to play. He is hilarious! Surprisingly enough, he is not overly adventurous. He doesn’t climb on too many things, but he does like climbing into things. We are going to have to move to a house with a big tree so we can build him a little treehouse. I’m sure he’d play in there for hours.
What a funny little guy!
