Cafe Blanc de Noir
Brenaissance Wine and Stud Estate
While driving to The House of J.C. le Roux, we stumbled across this café and decided to stop and see what they had to offer. There were seven of us on this day, but since Tayla is only eight years old, we were happy to see that this was a family restaurant with a play area outside for kids as well as many people sitting on the grass, and in the sun. It seemed like the perfect spot to relax after our sparkling wine and nougat tasting, and perhaps even try a little more wine.
The place to be! Come one and all to share in the family fun at Café Blanc de Noir!
Perfect for any occasion! Any and all ages…
As long as you enjoy great wines, food and lifestyle-driven living!”
The entrance to the cafe is beautifully inviting with a small wooden bridge that goes over a small river, containing lily pads and flowers. The thing that had really caught our eye from the road, as we drove by, was the white lettering that said “WINE”, “PIZZA” and “BEER”. I think each of those words appealed to a different one of the seven of us, and being as hungry as we were after church and wine tasting, this was definitely a perfect find!
Located in the beautifully scenic Devon Valley of Stellenbosch, the Café has truly stunning grounds and surroundings. The Café offers delicious rustic wood-oven pizzas, scrumptious sarmies, fresh salads, family-secret cakes, award winning Brenaissance wines and craft beer.
The Café has focused on providing a rustic & happy space; from the open plan chic interior filled with home touches. There are many fine details to keep the eye busy. I walked around inside and had a look at all of the framed family pictures, which I assume belong to the family who own this estate: Tom & Hayley Breytenbach.
Justin and I shared a delicious (rectangle) thin crust pizza.
Our pizza: Aged param ham, garlic rosa tomatoes, avo, mixed greens, parmesan shavings,
pesto and olive oil.
Catherine and Clinton enjoyed a Biltong, Fig, Feta, and Avo Salad.

The ladies decided to share a bottle of Lady H, a Sauvignon Blanc from 2011. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Perfect for the day that we were having – fresh and relaxing!
“From vine to wine in 12 months time! Fresh flavours of guava, apple & pine.
Pair with greens, meze, chicken or fish. Elegant & classy, Lady H is simply delish!”
Yeah – Elegant and classy, that’s us!
This was a wonderful day with amazing friends.
We are so happy to have stumbled on this gem, and we hope to return there on our next vacation in South Africa. Hopefully with the same lovely friends!
Take a drive to Brenaissance, we highly recommend it.
