Cheers│ Yesterday was J’s birthday… his 33rd birthday to be precise! If you ask either of us, we will say that we still feel like we are in our mid-20’s. WELL, that is until we are around people in their 20’s, THEN we feel like we are in our 30’s for sure. haha! No joke – there’s a wake up call! Late nights definitely require way more recovery time in your 30s, and staying out all night partying literally sets you back for days. For a laugh, check out these 10 difference between your 20s and 30s in a Huffington Post article.
Since Justin had to work yesterday, we only had lunch and dinner to work with. Eli and I met with him for lunch at the shopping mall next to his school. We took the bus there, ate a meal together, grabbed some coffee, and then said our goodbyes. After work, we met at another mall and did a bit of birthday shopping, before ordering some take-out and heading home to watch a movie. It was definitely the most low-key birthday that Justin has had in a while, but hey… that’s okay!
We really appreciate all of the birthday messages that poured in. It is especially wonderful to watch the videos that some sweet friends send. You guys make our days with messages like that!! Gosh… you gotta love a video message from a close friend. They really do make the distance feel less agonizing. THANK YOU SWEET FRIENDS!
This weekend marks the start of an annual seven day break here in China. Since Justin’s birthday usually falls somewhere between ending a massive summer trip abroad, and that seven day National Holiday, we almost always sway between one or the other for his birthday celebrations.
