Our Christmas Box Arrived
It’s that time of year again… The Christmas Tree is up, and we have hung the twinkly lights and stockings! This year is a little different though because we will be traveling over Christmas time. In fact, we leave for the Philippines NEXT WEEK! Even as I type that, I can barely believe it. The last few weeks have been full, and somehow this vacation is creeped up on us fast. Thankfully, we are all booked and ready to go. It is only the packing which needs to be done, and since we are going on a island-getaway, packing really doesn’t matter that much. Swimsuits, sunblock, floaties, camera – DONE!
Every year, just before Christmas, my in-laws send us a huge care package filled with tons of surprises. We can’t even describe how much these boxes of love mean to us. Living far away from family is not easy, and during Christmas time we do find ourselves getting sad about missing all of our loved ones. I’ve spoken about the winter blues that we experience here during December, and this year is no different. We have already questioned our choices for living here about three times since the weather changed. Nevertheless, Christmas time is definitely a lot happier when this amazing box arrives each year.
We know that sending a box this size isn’t cheap… and of course, there is also the the goodies inside! From the bottom of our hearts, we are SO VERY THANKFUL to my in-laws for this loving gesture each year.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! We love you guys so much! 💕
This year’s box was sent from Texas to China in November, so that we can enjoy our Christmas a little earlier. We will probably be doing our Christmas evening at home (gift opening, pictures, etc) this weekend, or early next week.
A New Excitement
Eli has never really understood, or cared much, for opening gifts. We love that about him, but we also knew it had a lot to do with his age. This year though, he knows what gifts are, and he’s excited to see what is inside them. The gifts are already all under the tree and he only opened one while on FaceTime with “Mimi”. He has asked to open another since it was already torn during it’s transportation, but so far he hasn’t actually tried to. The presents remain untouched, even when Eli wakes up at 5am and comes downstairs to play.
Here are some pictures of Eli’s happiness when the box arrived (even though he had no idea what it was – I psyched him up enough that he was excited anyway). Also, some pictures of Eli’s first Christmas box. He was only six months old when that box arrived.
