With two Christmas meals and a number of Skype calls planned, we knew that our Christmas Day would be a busy one. Justin had been given four consecutive days off work, but decided to make it five so that we could have a mini-Christmas break. Knowing that the next day would be busy, we decided that we would open our presents on Christmas Eve. Our Texas parents had sent us a big box of gifts, and all of those were waiting under our tree. Elijah had already wriggled his way over to the tree, and opened one of them, but conveniently, it was one of his own. He still had plenty more under the tree, and wouldn’t know the difference anyway, so we thought that it was funny. You can see a video of that episode here: Sneaky Monkey
We couldn’t wait until midnight to open present since little guy had to get to bed at a reasonable hour, so we did it around 8pm. Elijah had so much fun tearing the paper from his gifts!! We were surprised by how good he was at all. His grandma was very clever and tried to wrap his gifts in the softest paper so that it would tear easily. We showed him where I grab and he would hook his little fingers in and pull. It was just as much, if not more, fun for us!!!
