Clowns are Scary! My oh my. What is it about clowns? Are they not the most scary thing EVER!? I could blame it on the fact that I watched Stephen King’s “IT” way before I ever should have (not that I ever needed to watch it at all), but despite the images that this horror movie ingrained in my mind, and the fear that it instilled in me, I still think I would have been freaked out by clowns whether or not I had seen that movie. We attended a three year old birthday party last month, and almost every child there (and especially the poor birthday girl) were completely unimpressed by the clown that appeared just as the party was starting. I have no idea what this place was thinking, putting their clown in a mask that had two rows of yellow teeth. Clowns are already disturbing enough, and this thing had a hideous mouth! The birthday girl burst into a fit of tears, and the rest of the kids sat staring at the clown in complete horror. The worst part was that the clown would just not leave, despite the birthday girl screaming that she wanted it gone.
We really laughed at these pictures of Elijah’s face when the clown started walking around the table, handing out balloons.
Clearly he shares mommy’s sentiments on clowns…
Even until the very last moment, he just stared at the clown with a completely disturbed look on his face.
Clowns are seriously scary! Thankfully, once the clown had left the room, the birthday girl stopped crying and we went on to enjoy a sweet Frozen-themed party. If you missed that post, you can see Rhema’s 3rd birthday party here.
