At around 7pm, Elijah fell asleep and we made our way out with Clinton and Catherine. It was odd to leave the house without him, all dressed up, and knowing that we wouldn’t be back for a few hours. Grandpa and grandma told us to have fun, and that they would take care of Elijah. We were really excited about this opportunity to have some time with our friends. It had been two years since we hung out, just the four of us, and almost 8 months since it was just Justin and I.

The restaurant was perfect, the dinner delicious, and of course, being with our friends made us smile. Elijah didn’t wake up at all that evening, so we were free to stay out as late as we wanted. The following morning he woke up, non-the-wiser, and “chatted” away in his crib until we went into his room to pick him up.
Thank you to our friends for the wonderful evening. Aren’t grandparents amazing? With Tayla at her grandmother, and Elijah with my parents, the four of us were able to hang out child-free and enjoy each other’s company while enjoying delicious food and a few glasses of bubbly. (Well, beer for the boys – but that’s bubbly too!)
We drove home with the music pumping, singing songs at the top of our lungs.
Good times – these are the moments that make trips to South Africa so unforgettable!
