What a sight!!
Our tour of Ha Long Bay had some optional extras. One of them was climbing to the peak of Dao Ti Top island to see the superb view from the top. In 1962 the Russian astronaut Germane Ti Top went to the beach, hence the name Ti Top. There is a bar on the island, but we arrived early in the day so it was closed.
Dao Ti Top Island
We woke up early and had breakfast in the restaurant on the junk.
Our junk made it’s way towards the island while we all relaxed. Our tour guide told us that we would need to climb a lot of steps to get to the peak of the island, “More adventure for you!” he said.
Only half of the guests on our tour decided to climb to the island’s peak.
The others remained on the junk.
When we arrived on the island, Valentino gave us a little bit of history on the place.
5,000 dong to climb ($ 0,25).
The view from the beach.
The climb to the top was sweaty, but not to strenuous.
The view got more and more breathtaking as we neared the top!
After the monkeying around, we headed back down to the beach.
Panoramic view from the beach.
(What’s with the foot??)
The island’s bar area.
View from the bar.
This was definitely worth the stop… and climb!!
