For our most recent date, we headed in the direction of downtown to a place we have been a number of times before, Korona Grill House. I have been meaning to tell all of you about the rib special that we enjoy here every couple of weeks – and I will get to that soon enough. For now just know that Korona has amazing ribs at half price on a Monday night. The rack is huge so we have enough leftovers for each of us to eat the following night too. Everything else on the menu looks incredible, but since we always arrive ready to chow down on ribs… we have never had a chance to try anything else!
We made a point of heading back to Korona on a weekend, and decided to try some other meals on the menu. To start off we tried the ‘Soup of the Day’, which was a potato soup with delicious bacon pieces in it. It was tasty and a good way to start our winter lunch. For our mains we shared a meat and vegetable pizza, and a platter. The pizza was pretty decent – with a nice thin base. It was a healthy tasting pizza, except for the horrible excuse for ham that they added. In all honesty, China has the worst deli meats I have ever encountered in my life. It is pretty vile! Once we had picked those pieces off, the pizza was great! The platter had cheese, olives, salami, pastrami ham, and crackers. – and it was a nice reminder of similar sort of snack food back at home.
Korona‘s oreo milkshakes are not too bad either!
We have decided not to go on any more date nights until after our vacation. Instead we will cook for each other at home, since we really enjoy that and it’s much cheaper. More date night updates from the beginning of March, but if we make anything yummy at home… we’ll be sure to show you!
