A Date With my MIL│ WOW, this feels like so long ago! I found these pictures in an old email, and they really took me back. My mother-in-law took these pictures in 2012, while we were out shopping for wedding accessories in Dallas, Texas. These makes me smile for a number of reasons.
Firstly, it makes me think about our wedding. We waited longer than we wanted to for our wedding day. But in the end, it all worked out perfectly, and I’ll never forget those precious memories of dancing and singing the night away with my best friend. All night long, he only wanted to look at me. It was almost like we were alone, and nothing else in the world mattered.
Secondly, this dress makes me smile. It reminds me of how blessed I was when looked for a wedding dress. If I haven’t told that story already (Have I? I don’t remember), then goodness – that is a GREAT story! This turned out being my second dress. I wore this one to our reception. I LOVE this dress.
Thirdly, my mother-in-law. I love my mother-in-law. She is so loving and kind. She took me all around Dallas, shopping and organizing. She took a ton of stuff to South Africa, when she flew there for our wedding. We were traveling from South Korea to Cape Town, so she even had to bring my dresses and accessories! She is AMAZING! I am blessed to have her as my mother-in-law!
And lastly, I have REALLY been struggling to stay motivated lately. I can’t find the drive to work out and eating right. Of course, these pictures are motivating. I was running and weight training back then… and clearly it shows. I don’t care if I’m never as small as I was then. I just want to feel stronger and fit again. Right now, I really don’t. The motivation is lacking. I don’t know where it went, but it sure is proving to be tough to get it back this time around!
Since I’m feeling nostalgic about this dress, here are a few more pictures from our reception:
What a beautiful, amazing, super-duper, incredibly unforgettable day!
