If you’ve been following along recently, you’ll know that I entered a Diet Bet on Dietbetter.com. I bet $25 that I could lose 4% of my body weight in 4 weeks. It didn’t seem like a lot of weight at all, but recently my weight loss had tapered a bit, so this seemed like a great way to motivate myself to lose a little bit of weight before our vacation. The final date for the weigh-in was the day after Justin arrived, so it seemed like perfect timing. Also it was a great motivator to stay healthy when on our trip started. No duty-free chocolates, haha.
There were over 800 players in this particular game – The Bikini Body Mommy Challenge 3.0 – which meant that there was a good chance that I would receive more than $25 back if I managed to lose the 4%. At first I struggled to lose any weight at all, because weight loss in China seems more challenging for me. Think minimal protein and tons of carbs. That is basically what we eat. In the end, I pulled through and lost 4.6%, and I plan on buying something nice while we are here in South Africa.
Justin was motivated by my success and is considering entering a Dietbet this month. We often pick up quite a bit of weight while we are vacationing, so a bet like this would keep us in line. We would both like to leave Cape Town in better shape than we arrived, so perhaps another bet is in order.
