Eli Two Years: Photo Shoot. It is not easy to get pictures of Elijah these days. He is always running in the opposite direction of me, probably because he is worried that I might say that playtime is over. He absolutely ADORES being outdoors, and can play with sticks, rocks and dirt for hours. If I left him out there, I’m sure he wouldn’t care one bit. The scary thing is that he never turns to see where I am. I have hidden behind bushes and trees, and watched him to see if he looks for me. What a fool I am – he couldn’t be bothered with me! He is far too busy exploring and having fun. This boy is independence personified! He has always been this way, so I don’t know why it still sometimes surprises me so much. I wish that he wanted to stay near me, and play with me… but he is on his own mission, and in many ways I love this aspect of Elijah!
This was the little blue and white outfit that he wore on the morning of his birthday, when we went to Polar Ocean world and then had a birthday brunch at Lang Cafe. The set was not sold as you see it on him. We ordered a few outfits online and much of what arrived was way too big for him (no surprises there), so we had to improvise. I love him in this little outfit. With his sandals, he looks like a little Austrian boy! haha… good thing we will be taking him to Austria next month then.
These are a few pictures that I could get of him. Mostly him running, exploring, and ignoring me. Hahaha – Taking photos of my son has become increasingly difficult. Thanks for the challenge Elijah! Perhaps one day we will have a child who loves being photographed. Eli is definitely not too keen on posing or smiling for pictures.
Here is Eli James at two years old…
I thought that I was being smart by running ahead of Elijah, and trying to take pictures of him as he went up the stairs. He spotted me (as seen in above image) and then turned around and went back down the stairs (below).
Nice try Mommy!
Right when I think he couldn’t care less about being near me, he comes over and lifts his arms so that I can hold him and give him a cuddle, and all is right in my world…
Highlight of my day, he actually stayed where I put him and smiled for the camera! UNBELIEVABLE! That really is a rare occurrence, and often when my camera settings are wrong and I miss the fleeting opportunity.
Above, CAPTURED! A big smile from my sweet independent two year old.
Here he comes again!
Nope, off again…
“Yes mom, I’ll look at the camera…. while I pick my nose.”
Typical boy shot!
How did we get to two years old so quickly? It is unbelievable how quickly they grow and change.
We will do a “Two Year Update” on Elijah soon. There are still a couple more birthday posts coming up.
Isn’t he adorable? What a wonderful blessing this child is in our lives.
