Social: Elijah has been loud and happy this month. He still has no problem with strangers and will happily move from hands to hands, and show love to whoever is holding him. We have been surprised by how popular he is in South Africa. Personally, I assumed that it was Asian people that adored him because he looked different to the locals, but he seems to be generating the same responses here in South Africa. People comment on his big blue eyes, his sweet calm disposition, and the way that they instantly fall in love with him.

– Pulling himself up high onto furniture like shelves/ coffee tables;
– This was the first month that he ate any solid foods;
Likes: Walks in the stroller while mommy and daddy run, loves biltong and droewors (dry sausage), ring-stacking toy from his grandparents, the bath toys which he plays with in his blow up pool, baths, fluffy slippers, his dinosaur teething toy, hitting the keyboard while sitting with grandma Moose, spending time with the best babysitter ever (Tayla), anything with wheels, and things that dangle. Elijah still LOVES bright lights — we went to watch a live show and he sat – complete mesmerised – for over an hour. No one could believe how fascinated he was. There are two movies that he loves above all others – The Lion King and Tangled.
