Our apartment is only really fit for two people, but we’re pretty sure that we can squeeze a tiny little being in here somewhere. haha! We converted our little office area into a mini-nursery, and although we plan to keep Elijah in our room with us initially, it has been fun decorating this room for him!
Here are a few pictures of how we made the office space into a little room for him…
At night there is a great view of the city from his nursery because we are so high up. The final step was to hang the curtains that we ordered for the room. For more on the crafts that mommy made for his room, you can link to those here: Nursery Crafts.

It’s not very fancy, but we liked what we did with the small space that we had available. Who knows, he may sleep in our room for a few months, but this was a fun project that we could do together.
<< Here is little man in his crib. The curtains were a perfect final touch, but seeing our son lying in his crib on that first day that we bought him home from the hospital, was a moment that we will never forget. He was so quiet that we kept forgetting that we had a baby at home with us. Each time we walked by the nursery, on the way to the kitchen, one of us would gasp and say, “Oh my gosh – there’s a baby in there!!” (or something to that effect) and then we would both laugh our heads off before going to stand next to the crib to stare at him. Crazy people – It was hilarious!
It turns out that a nursery may have not have been completely necessary at this stage (which we suspected might be the case) since we are keeping Elijah in our bedroom with us. Of course, fancy nurseries are more for the parents than for the babies, so we are happy now that we didn’t make a big deal of moving to a bigger apartment just yet. What we have is small, but it is more than sufficient.
For now, all we can think about is our incredible little blessing and how happy we are to have him here with us. We waited so long for him, and to finally be able to hold him is really an unbelievable feeling. He is such a good baby!
