Look at that smile… Pure happiness!
Eli’s First Taste of Sand
We were bombarded by people coming by to take pictures of the kids. They especially loved Silas and Laney for their blonde hair. I have experienced this many times, but never in this way because McKenzie’s kids are old enough to say that they don’t want to be in pictures with the strangers. It really blew my mind to see how forward some people were. At one stage, there was a couple crouching down next to us (right next to us) and pointing in Laney’s face. They were thrilled with what they saw, and they chatted loudly about sweet little Laney in Chinese while trying to pose with her as they leaned in for pictures. Many of them didn’t ask if they could take pictures, or lean into our little area. In a way, it felt like we were zoo animals being stared at and photographed. I guess this is what celebrities feel like!? Next time this happens, I will try to take pictures of the people as they sit down next to us, maybe they will realise how intrusive they are being.
On a more positive note, look how cute Laney is… (below)
There have been so many times that Justin and I have seen beach toys at the grocery store, and I have always wanted to buy them for Elijah. After seeing how he loved to play with them on this day, I will definitely be picking some up for him in the coming weeks!
Elijah took notes, and then tried to fill the water bottle with sand by himself when Silas moved away. He then tried to drink the sand – Oh dear! I love watching him play.
