Fall is really awesome in Texas ~
Here are a few of the wonderful things that have made us smile lately…
Leaves cover the paths ahead of me as I run. When the wind blows, they fall all around me.
It feels magical!
MARATHON TRAINING UPDATE
We have been running a lot and the new shoes have really helped. I managed to do two laps around White Rock Lake on Monday. It was tough, but I made it to 30 km (19 miles). Justin dropped me at the lake, and then drove to school for 3 hours of classes. When I came around the lake, for the second time, Justin was there waiting with Gatorade, water, chips, and a foot-long Subway sandwich. I was in pretty rough shape, so I apprecaited the kind gesture!!
*Nervous about the marathon ~ 6 weeks to go*
PUMPKINS EVERYWHERE ~ I love them!
This one tree that has changed while all of those around it are still green!
I had to stop running and admire it for a couple of minutes ~ it looked unreal.
It’s time for the fluffy-slipper-socks!
It’s not quite hot enough for air-conditioner, but it’s not cold enough for the heating yet. The days are perfect actually, but I generally feel a little chilly inside the house, so I wear fluffy socks when we are at home. Texas weather is confusing. One day your sweaty, and the next you are chilly.
I love these piles of leaves that have changed! When there are enough to rake up in our backyard, I can’t wait to jump around and play in them. I’m a kid ~ I know!
Yellow and green… How beautiful my runs are now!
Afternoon runs through the creek are chilly.
Tiva has her own bedroom and she spreads out on the bed all day. In the morning, she comes to lay in the bed with me and snuggle. She has a soft tummy with spots all over it ~ It looks like a pig belly.
There are fallen acorns everywhere and therefore HUNDREDS of squirrels running around. I can’t go running with my bulky SLR camera so it’s hard for me to get a shot of them crossing the path as I run though the forested areas of our neighbourhood. They make me smile because they try grab a couple acorns and then run from me like I am chasing them.
We picked pumpkins this week. Four big ones and one little one. I am excited to carve them with Justin and his family. If you missed our trip to pick pumpkins – click here.
How fun to spend some time looking around all the crafty goods at Hobby Lobby. I had never been there before, and it was probably a mistake to go because I didn’t want to leave!! We managed to get out without doing too much damage, but Justin and I both got lost in a couple of aisles!! We had fun looking at all the Halloween and Fall decorations ~ America has the most amazing decor and DIY items!! I felt like a kid in a candy store.
What a beautiful season!!!
