We sure do love our family lunch dates. Any time that we get to spend together is special to us. To celebrate the end of the school year, Elijah and I met Justin for lunch on the last day of school. We went to Lisa’s Italian, which is a restaurant in the Jusco shopping mall located on Hefei Lu. This place is a great addition to the area, and since it is right across the road from Justin’s school, it makes for a very convenient spot for afternoon errands and last minute grocery pick-ups. We enjoy meeting there for coffee or a meal, even if Justin can only meet us for an hour. The fact that he doesn’t have to travel to meet us, means that we get maximum time with daddy. Sometimes Eli and I run to this mall. I get a short workout in, and Eli naps in his stroller. Our new apartment is unfortunately double the distance away, but it is still do-able if the weather is pleasant.
We had been to Lisa’s a couple of times before, but seeing as we enjoy the food so much, we ventured back there for our family lunch date. The fact that they have plenty of high chairs is a big plus for us! In China people tend to eat during very specific times, so if you visit a restaurant after 2pm you are bound to have almost the whole restaurant to yourself. Wonderful!
Little man was sporting a nice big bruise on his cheek on this day. This phase is definitely one for bumps and bruises. We have had a few bloody falls too, but thankfully nothing too terrible. I realise that, with a son, we should expect many bruises, bumps and scars in the coming years, but I’d like to enjoy these milder years for as long as I can.
Justin ordered a lasagne, and it was absolutely amazing!
Definitely worth ordering again.
After our lunch date, Justin went back to school to collect a few things while Elijah and I walked around the mall. There are plenty of stores and things to look at. We haven’t tried it yet, but there is even a motorized train for kids that travels around one of the floors of the mall. I’m sure that Eli will want to try that at some stage in the upcoming year.
