There no doubt about it that Justin and I love to travel, but what makes a journey even better is the people we meet along the way. We have never had the opportunity to go on vacation with friends that we are in community with. When holidays come, most expats either go home or have agenda that they have to stay in China for. On this vacation, we were blessed with the opportunity to spend time with some close friends of ours from Qingdao. They hadn’t been on a vacation in years, so this was a very exciting trip for them. After having two babies very close together, this was the first time that they got to go somewhere completely kiddie-free. We had Elijah with us, but he’s quite the chilled little man.
We had been in the Philippines for about 7 days when our friends arrived. So we were already golden brown, and nicely settled in. We showed them around a bit and then met down on the beach for cocktails and a spectacular sunset. It kind of felt like Boracay was our home, and we were having them over… haha, if only!
