…and the buckets of tears that have been shed in our last days.
I keep thinking about these sweet little faces as I said goodbye.
|Squished into a cab|
The next step was getting from the bus station to the hotel. A guy hounded us until we finally agreed on a price. He refused to use his meter, but it was raining and we couldn’t move far with our bags so we agreed. He had been standing next to a cab, but once we agreed to go with him, he ran off to get his unmarked (ie.”illegal taxi”) car. He drove EXTRA slow because we had told him that the hotel was less than 30 minutes away, but he insisted that it was 50 minutes.
Last night was the most comfortable and amazing night that we have had in MONTHS!!!!!! It’s no exaggeration that we literally felt like kings in this hotel (and it wasn’t even the fanciest hotel we could have gone to). There were no bad smells coming out of the drain, no bugs, and a king size bed to stretch out on. Already little the simplest luxuries were creeping back, and we couldn’t have been more appreciative! A real shower guys… A REAL SHOWER!!!
