On October 31st, we went to a Halloween party at Grand High School. A group of grade 12 students organised the event, and they were very excited to have the teachers join them for the party. All month long they would ask Justin what he was going to wear, and if his wife and baby were coming. Justin had a private lesson after school on Friday. While he taught in our dining room, I attempted to get ready in the bathroom. It wasn’t easy to wrap up my arms and legs by myself, but I did as much as I could and then got Elijah ready. Once Justin was done, all three of us were able to finish our costumes and I did Justin’s face paint.
When we got to school, we were greeted eagerly by big crowds of excited students wanting to get a look at the family of mummies that had arrived. Their first shocked response was towards Justin’s costume, and then the second was for Elijah. Before we had even got to the stop of the staircase, they were all crowding around us and wanting to take pictures.
Despite all of the attention, Justin and Eli did a great job of staying in character…
