We Skyped with Justin along the way, and then again before he went to bed (since we are now 6 hours behind him), and Elijah’s face lit up each time that he saw his daddy’s picture on the screen. When Justin spoke to him, Elijah would start jumping up and down, and going nuts. He definitely knows, loves and misses his father – and of course, so do I! We are very much looking forward to him arriving next week this time. Thank goodness it is only a week, and not two weeks, that we will be apart.
We will have more pictures and stories as the week progresses, I just wanted to let you all know that Elijah and I are safe and sound in the beautiful Mother City. I am awfully excited to see my nearest and dearest friends, but for now we will recover and spend some quality time with my folks. It has been two years since we were here, and it is wonderful to be back at home. My dad was waiting at the airport with a bag of biltong, and for dinner he made me a huge juicy steak. Delicious! There is so much that I am looking forward to, and I can’t wait for Justin to join us.
It was strangely nostalgic returning to South Africa today.
I am very happy to be here!
