On Christmas Day, we went to our friends for dinner. They put in a great effort making us feel at home, and even made a South African dessert for us. After we’d eaten, we were surprised with a family craft that we were all going to take part in. We’re always up for crafts, especially if we’re making something that we can display in our home.
Our friend, Elisabeth, had bought paint and various sized canvases. We looked at a few ideas and decided on a family hand and footprint idea that we found on Pinterest. Dad and Mom’s hands, with baby’s feet over the hands. It’s pretty simple to do, so not much explanation needed. Have a look at the photos and give it a try. We hung this picture in our apartment, and it is a wonderful reminder of our first Christmas as a family. What we also like is that we can display it all year long. Next Christmas we will do another variation of this. This is a great idea – a family craft every Christmas!
We used black for dad’s handprint, grey for mom’s handprint and baby blue for the little guy’s footprints. We signed our name and the date with a paint pen at the bottom.
