Oh man – Is that kid of ours adorable or what?
Of course, all of those beautiful locks of hair are gone, but he looks like a little boy now, and to us he just keeps getting cuter an cuter by the day. He gives the sweetest cuddles and hugs. When we crouch down and open our arms, he runs as fast as he can (almost losing his footing as he speeds towards us) and then throws himself into our arms. This next part is the best… Both arms wrap tightly around your neck, he then nuzzles his face into the area just above your collarbone, and just stays there. Sometimes we just wait… wondering what he’s doing. Is he asleep? Nope, he’s just enjoying a good cuddle. We waited a long time for these amazing cuddles. Now that they are here, we absolutely love every second of them.
I think I may have got a little sidetracked there.
Basically, there have been a lot of snuggles going on over here. The weather is bad, the pollution levels pitiful, and our moods are pretty much struggling not to follow suit! Elijah and I don’t have much reason to leave the house, so despite the invites to join playgroups and other weekly get-togethers, I think that we just prefer this hibernation-mode that we are in right now. If Justin didn’t have to leave for work, I’m sure that we wouldn’t venture much further than the veggie store downstairs.
We only have four more days and then Justin is on vacation. After that he will be busy for two in the mornings, but we are really looking forward to those free afternoons together. The following two weeks we will both be completely free and we are thinking maybe we should fly somewhere to “reboot”. We really don’t enjoy this cold weather, but the staggeringly pollution levels are just awful. When the weather improves, so does the pollution because China uses coal for heating.
As my father-in-law said this week…
“Hang in there! Spring is Coming, I promise!”
