Hungary │ European Road Trip Country #9
Hungary is a landlocked country in Central Europe. Its capital, Budapest, is split down the middle by the Danube River. Its cityscape is studded with architectural landmarks from Buda’s medieval Castle Hill and grand neoclassical buildings along Pest’s Andrássy Avenue to the 19th-century Chain Bridge. Turkish and Roman influence on Hungarian culture includes the popularity of mineral spas, including at thermal Lake Hévíz.
**Contrary to my previous statement that Slovakia was our 9th country, Hungry is actually the 9th country. Therefore, even though we have already blogged about country #10, we are going back to country #9. Only those really paying close attention would have notice this – but nevertheless, NOW YOU ALL KNOW!**
Passing only through the very western tip of Hungary, through a city called Sopron, it feels like we are cheating by claiming that we even visited this country. We did, nevertheless, visit Hungary. And that little bit of time spent in that little piece of Hungary left us HUNGRY for more. haha… I’m sure you saw what I did there!
