To celebrate Justin’s birthday we decided to go out and EAT, because let’s face it, what is a celebration without food?? After work Justin had spent over a hour open up his 30 gifts, so following a busy day we had both worked up an appetite. We felt like something a little different this time round. We predominately eat Korean, Chinese, Mexican, Thai, and Japanese (well by Japanese I mean… sushi). Our friends recommended this Indian Restaurant in Wanda Plaza, located near downtown Qingdao. It was aptly named “Indian Restaurant”. I guess that they wanted to stick to basics when they named the place. We are not complaining… The food was AMAZING, so they can call it whatever they want to. Haha!
To start out we had deep fried chicken nuggets and giant samosas. Both of them tasted like heaven… and no, not just because they were fried and served with incredible sauces. No, they were indeed, absolutely delicious! We are both big fans of Indian food, so our obsession with these dishes was not due to the fact that we are inexperienced with this cuisine.
For our main meal, we had Fried Prawns with Peppers and Chicken Tikka Masala. On the side we had roti stuffed with mashed potato. Well… Oh my word… More deliciousness! We had to take a breather and slow down because the food was so tasty that we were chowing down at quite a fast pace! To wash it all down, I had a grapefruit cocktail and Justin tried a Kingfisher (an Indian beer).
To all of our friends in Qingdao –
This place is really awesome. Go and check it out, but wear stretchy pants because you are probably going to eat too much. It’s hard not too! This was a perfect birthday dinner for Justin, and we hope to return here with friends in the next couple of months.
