It’s time for another juice fast. This is juice fast #2 for us. Fifteen days is how long we aimed for last time. The truth is that I really don’t know how long I will make it on this juice fast, but since both Justin and I made it to 16 days last time, I assume that I might be able to do a similar period. A lot has changed though, and I’m definitely to as healthy as I was back in 2013. You can check out our first Juice Fast here: Juicing. In that link you can also check out our day-to-day progress. We are folloing a very similar program, with most of the recipes coming from the Reboot with Joe website. Since we live in China, and certain items, like beets and mint, are not at the local grocery store, we have adapted some of the recipes to suit our current situation.
We’ve been here before, and I know that this is going to bring some really healthy changes. I think that it is just what I need to get my body out of this current slump I am in. It is very cold here, the pollution is awful, and the last six months have been challenging (to say the least), so this juice fast, although tough, is just what I need. There are certainly some huge hurdles to overcome when committing to a fast such as this, but I think my biggest issue in the last few months has been motivation. A juice fast takes intense dedication, but I feel ready for it.
I’ll be posting updates every day or two so that you can follow along as see how we are doing.
Justin will be joining me for the first couple of days – he certainly is a very encouraging husband – and after that it’ll be me on my own. I think once the ball is rolling, I’ll be able to keep going by myself. I know, with certainty, that the benefits far outweigh the desire to gorge on unhealthy foods! It’s time to get back to being healthy.
Benefits I am hoping to see after this Juice Fast:
*Increased energy (and no longer requiring caffeine everyday)
*Although I haven’t had any skin breakouts, I would like to say goodbye to my dull dry skin
*I would like to balance out my hormones as they have been out of sorts lately.
*I would definitely like to shed some of this additional weight I have been carrying around.
