With the end of our juice fast in sight, we are very excited to start eating solids again. We both feel slimmer and much healthier, but we could really do with more energy. This have been a surprising aspect of the fast for us. In the past, when doing juice fasts, I have had way more energy, and I also seemed to detox much quicker. It has been slow for us here, and I have been wondering if it is the quality of the fruit and vegetables in China (hopefully not). We can’t say for sure, but by day 13 I would normally be happily bouncing around with energy. That has not been the case this time. We do however feel healthier, so that’s all that matters. Healthier, ready to eat god foods, and eager to start our “couple runs” in the evenings again.
We did the juices from day 3 today
(except for the Sweet Potato, Blueberry, and Pear drink).
Justin only had classes after “lunch-time” today so we stayed up late talking to his mom on Skype until about 2am. We slept in, and then made our second last day’s worth of juice. This evening we bought our last batch of fruits and vegetables for a full day of juicing (Friday), and some extra juices for the Saturday. It seems strange that the fast is ending tomorrow. I am in two minds about it. I would like to keep going, but I can’t imagine another boring weekend of no food, no exercise, and no energy. As I mentioned on day 13, ee are not feeling as much energy as we expected, so we are ready to get back into healthy food and start exercising.
15 days on a juice fast is pretty good – I think?! I have been thinking about going onto 21 days, or maybe even 30 days, but Justin would probably be stopping tomorrow so it would be a challenge to keep going alone. Perhaps in a few months I will do a longer fast. We intended on making juices a part of our normal diet in the future.
We used the juice recipes from day 4 today,
but instead of the Grapes and Blueberries, we had a Watermelon and Lemon juice.
