On our day tour to the Phi Phi islands, we had a stop at an island called Kai Nai. It was a small island in between Phuket and Ko Phi Phi. We took a rest here during the day and everyone got off the boat and relaxed. We did a little bit of snorkeling and laid on the beach as well.
This was our sticker so we knew which group to stay with all day. There were SO many boats on similar tours that we had to stay organized!
It was great taking a speedboat instead of a long tail boat, for a change. They move so fast, but the ride is super bumpy and we nearly flew off the front of the boat. Fun times!
The beach was beautiful and the water was very clear. It was great for snorkeling. There were many people with their masks on looking for fish and other sea creatures.
I didn’t see much at this spot.
There I go… Catherine stayed on the shore to get some sun.
I wanted to take a nap, but it was scorching hot in the sun.
My Cutie Pie
Catherine saw some colorful fish but she sulked because she wanted to take some underwater pictures and see couldn’t.
Hot, isn’t it??
Some shade and refreshments. We had to get out of the sun. We did some browsing in the shops and tried to look for our boat crew. Someone on the island said that our crew had a table of fresh fruit and cold water wait for us… but we had to search for them.
Boats for hire.
You could rent these chairs to sit in. Or you could just sit in the sand for free. This is the trend on all the islands and beaches in Thailand. They put chairs and tables on the beach and rent them to you for the day. Sometimes it works out pretty well.
We laid out a towel and relaxed in the shade. We had enough sun at that point of the day.
Catherine’s view from my lap.
After a few hours we returned to our speedboat.
Our guide rolled up a towel and gave it to another person as a hat.
These were two of our cool guides that sailed us around all day.
Above is the 3rd guide helping me out of the boat. Our trip was over. Speed boat was definitely the way to go about island hopping.
After a long day we were wiped!
We only had a 2 hour bus ride until we were back to our guesthouse 🙁
Hopefully we don’t get car sick.
