HHmmm.. A spicy hot vegetable and meat soup.
Heather recommended this place, so we went to check it out about two weeks ago. Funny enough, it has become a regular place for us to eat at now. The restaurant’s logo is interesting… It kind of looks like a KFC rip off, so we call it the “KFC Hot Pot Place”. As you walk in, you take a basket and a pair of tongs. You then load your basket with whatever meats and vegetables you want from a refrigerated area. The vegetables are pretty cheap, and even though the meat looks mostly processed and awful, Justin and I have found what we like. I take eggs, and Justin likes the meatballs/ chicken.
Once you have picked what you would like in your soup, you take the basket to the cash register to pay. Your vegetable, meats and noodles are then cooked together with a delicious broth. The bowl is big, and this meal is very filling. The average cost is about 10-12 yuan, so it’s a cheap dinner for when we don’t feel like making food at home. Unlike most Chinese food, I know exactly what’s in it, so I’m a big fan!!
Unfortunately, it might soon get too hot to eat a hot soup like this,
but for now we are enjoying it while we can.
Sometimes there is a man selling BBQed pork skewers just outside the restaurant.
They are very cheap and tasty, so we buy a few and enjoy them with our “hot pot” soup.
