Day 3 – Krabi, Thailand
Waking up to the sound of birds and the ocean waves crashing is an absolute dream come true! We lay in bed until we go too hot, and then we would shower and stumble to the restaurant for some ice coffee/ tea, and breakfast. This daily routine was definitely one that we could get used to!!! 😉
It was nice never having to actually get dressed. We didn’t even need to leave the grounds because we had everything that we needed right here. Visiting the busy area of Krabi once was more than enough for us, and we felt happy just relaxing at a place that now felt like our second home.
Even the dogs live in relaxed mode 🙂
While we ate they would sleep at our feet, in the sand!
Clay bucket and scoop for rinsing sand off your feet before entering the restaurant.
Early in the morning the beach was empty.
Relaxing in the shade… Oops, I got stuck!
We really loved the Pad Thai that Ae made. It was thick and creamy.
Behind us you can see the restaurant area, however we ate under the trees for some of our meals.
If you have been to Thailand then you will know that there are tons of Geckos and Lizards.
I LOVE THEM!!
On this day rain clouds moved in, and within minutes we went from tanning to running for cover. The downpour was intense. The skies opened, and the raindrops were huge. We all took shelter in the restaurant.
Within 20 minutes the rain stopped, and the sun came back out.
Left, We found the most amazing Tom Yum Ramyan in Malaysia and Thailand. They were very cheap so we stocked up on loads of them. These were great snacks for when we missed the open kitchen hours. In fact, we just ate them at any time of the day!!
Right, A place to rinse your feet before entering your bungalow.
The path to our bungalow
I had full intentions of going for a couple of runs, but I never did. Justin and I always ended up going for long walks down the beach. This is something that we like to do after eating. Further down the beach we found similar bungalow resorts.
We walked until the beach ended.
Here you can see how low the tide was. Some kids are playing in tree roots which are usually submerged in ocean water.
When we got back to the bungalows, we decided to repeat the events of the night before. It was after 6pm so the generators were on, and music was already playing. Why try to do something else when last night had been perfect!? Snacks, cards, beer, music and good company.
Ae made us some prawn chips, and then we ate more instant Tom Yum noodles. Fried cashew nuts were a perfect snack to go with the beers!
It was on this evening that we met the awesome couple, Douglas and Brittany, from Canada. They recently got married and they are spending a year traveling the world. We moved over to their table, and started playing card games together. We instantly clicked, and we loved spending time with them. It’s great when that happens! We stayed up really late socializing and getting to know each other.
…Another perfect day!!
