Lang Cafe│Birthday Brunch. After a wonderful morning spent exploring Polar Ocean World, we walked with Elijah along the oceanside. Daddy bought him a blue whale bubbly gun, and he ran ahead of us trying to shoot bubbles. His hands are small, but occasionally he would hit the trigger and be delighted with the result. He was over the moon, and we were so happy to see him enjoying his special day as much as he was! Justin had taken Elijah’s birthday off so that we could go out for the day. I try to imagine what it would be like to have to go off and work daily, while knowing that Elijah and I are at home together all day long. I’m sure that this is difficult for Justin. That is why days like this are all the more special for us!
We stopped at Lang Cafe, located amongst the numerous cafes and bars lining the oceanside. We have been wanting to do this for ages, so we were pleased to finally do on Eli’s birthday! Justin and Elijah both had chicken nuggets and I had a delicious salad. The ice coffees were a wonderful relief from the humidity!
The bubble gun provided MUCH HAPPINESS!
But when our meals arrived, we quietened down and took a few minutes to relax as Elijah ate.
Keeping a two year old in a chair is a challenge, so we put on his favorite show…
And his laughter made us even happier!
After brunch we walked a little further along the coast and then up to the main road to get a ride back to our apartment.
We had hoped that Elijah would have been nearing “sleepiness” by the time that brunch was done, but I think that we were all too excited! He was all hyped up and having a blast!
Sweet birthday boy!
When we got home Eli went up to his room for a nap (which didn’t actually happen) and we got to work. There was a party to set up for, and we only had two hours to transport and set up the decorations. That sounds like enough time, but things always take a little longer in China! Up next – pictures from Elijah’s second birthday.
