Last Monday. I’m sure that you remember Eli and I heading out to explore Qingdao with a friend on Mondays. We posted a number of stories and lots of cool pictures from around this beautiful coastal city. A little play on words in the title since I’m not sure if this was officially our LAST Monday, or just the last one since we went. Even though September has arrived, it is still stinking hot here! The humidity should drop soon, but after our summer in Europe I have absolutely NO DESIRE to be out sightseeing until the weather gets nicer. Either my memories are warped, or this is a really nasty September. I remember this month as one of my yearly favorites in Qingdao. However since we got back it has been nothing but grey skies, pollution and high humidity! Forget about looking even half decent… because once you step outside, the sweat starts to drip! As you can tell – I’m not too pleased with the current weather situation.
Autumn, wherever you are, hurry the heck up!
On a happier note – how cute is that little red car in the above image? We see these often in China, but this one was quite clean and nice looking. Most of the rest that we see are falling apart and closely resemble a death-trap. This one though – it was quite cute!
My computer is now sticked up on thousands of Europe photos that need to be edited, but I found this wee little file of pictures on my desktop so I thought I would do a little summary post. Let’s call it a tribute to the awesome Mondays with Mari. Here’s hoping that we can get back to exploring when it isn’t so nasty outside!
On our “Last” Monday…
This picture of me was taken at the very top of Signal Hill Park (XinHaoShan). We didn’t feel like lugging the stroller up the stairs that lead to the summit of this mountain-top park, so daddy stayed down below and let Eli play. So yes, in the above picture I was all alone and enjoying the 360 degree views of Qingdao. I barely ever have completely alone moments, so this was like a mini getaway for me! Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adore my little family, but stay at home/ work from home mamas out there will understand. Sometimes just going grocery shopping alone can feel like a mini-vacation.
And of course, what summary post would be complete without a couple of cute pictures of the little man!? I think that it was around the time that he started doing this HUGE grin smile that you see. The two pictures below perfectly depict his happiest of happy faces – he either shows all of his teeth in a big cheesy grin, or he opens his mouth really wide (the latter of which he has been doing since he was a wee little bub).
