Let’s Try That Again! Four weeks ago, after returning from our summer in Europe, we started eating healthy and working out. We were determined to loose the weight that we had gained while gorging on European cheese, bread, meat and beer. I have to say, we were pretty darn determined! We took “before pictures”, printed out work out plans, and diligently got up every morning at 5am to exercise together. Unfortunately, all that slowly faded away and our September fitness quest failed miserably!! In the past, this sort of thing was so much easier. You know… the working out, eating right, and loosing weight THING! I don’t know why, but these days, it is so much more difficult to stay motivated!
With full confidence in myself, I entered a Dietbet at the beginning of September. Within the first week I had almost lost the 4% required to win that bet. However, over the rest of September, the enthusiasm faded, and we went back to our “old ways”. I could make excuses – we had friends in need, we caught a cold, we were adjusting to life back at work and so on. But the truth of the matter is that we really can’t make excuses. Life has it’s up and downs, and sure, we probably should have exercised and eaten better while we were away, but we are home now! It is time to get back to a healthy place.
We are on day 1 of a 7 day break, so we are using this time to get back “into routine”. With all of these days at home together, we can encourage each other to be active, drink more water, and avoid unhealthy snacking. We started working out at the beginning of September and by now we could be seeing good results, but we fell off the wagon! I don’t want to be saying that again at the end of October! Today is the first day of a new month, and that means we get a FRESH START!
