Justin attended The University of Texas, and if you know anything about Texas, you’ll know that they loooove University Football. Most of Justin’s friends and family, they are die-hard UT Longhorn fans – so it wasn’t at all surprising that Justin chose this outfit for Elijah before he was even born. Whether our baby came out a boy or a girl, we knew that he/ she would wear this little outfit, but I must say, I like it more on a boy. These pictures are of Elijah, at 5 months old, in his first set UT supporter gear. I’m sure he’ll have other set as he gets older. Grandma Sue probably has her eye on a few other burnt orange outfits already!
For those not acquainted with the UT Longhorns, here’s a little information about what why Elijah’s finger-positioning in the picture to the left is perfect!
“Hook ’em Horns” is the slogan and hand signal of The University of Texas at Austin. The gesture is meant to approximate the shape of the head and horns of the UT mascot, the Texas Longhorn Bevo. The sign is made by extending the index and pinky fingers while grasping the second and third fingers with the thumb. The arm is usually extended, but the sign can also be given with the arm bent at the elbow. The signal is often seen at sporting events, and is one of the most recognized hand signals of all the American universities.
