We ended up walking around until quite late in the night. There were a number of things we wanted to buy, and we thought that we may not make it down to this area for a few days.
We bought towels, swimming suits, tanning oil, sunblock, drinks and snacks, and then made our way back to Long Beach Villas. Unfortunately, there were no long tail boats on the river when we got back there. It was pitch down and the tide was high. We saw a big sail boat loading tourists onto it. It belonged to a hotel, and they were about to sail into the ocean. The captain said that we could jump on and he would drop us on the other side of the river. How sweet of him! We were imagining swimming across the river with our purchases balanced on our heads 😉
When we jumped off the ferry on the other side of the river, we could not see anything. The moon was not visible, and so the beach was totally dark. Both of us have poor night vision, so we stumbled along the shore together. There were hundreds of tiny crabs running back and forth over the sand, and they kept bumping into our feet. haha… at least there were no cicada’s flying around us!!!!!! 😉
