Lunch in Mürren│Stager Stübli. While we were walking through the charming little car-less village of Mürren, we decided to stop and get a bite to eat. Initially we were interested in perhaps getting a cheese fondue, but we eventually decided to sit down under some umbrellas and order a couple beers. Prices were pretty steep in this little town – which wasn’t a surprise at all – so we chose to rather get something small to snack on. We could never get bored of a cheese platter – so we went with one of those! The restaurant, Stager Stuli, was nice. Inside the decor looked pretty traditional, but since we wanted to sit outside and gaze at the white peaks that surrounded us, we didn’t get to see much of the interior of the restaurant.
Stager Stübli is apparently the only really independent place to eat in Mürren. The restaurant’s reviews say that they serve excellent rosti, raclette, lamb and other meat dishes as well as vegetarian options. This place is one of the most popular restaurants in the area, and also popular with locals. The other restaurants are located in the hotels. If you want to do a bit of shopping then you’re better off going across the valley to Wengen. Better yet, head to Interlaken for a wider variety of shopping options.
Eli was asleep for most of the time that we were here, so I guess you could call this one of our vacation “nap time dates”. We parked his stroller in the shade of the umbrellas, and let him get some good rest. The view from our table was superb! It was so soothing to just sit and look at the view, while sipping on our beers and nibbling on our cheese.
When Elijah woke up, he too sat looking at the breathtaking view of the mountains with us…
