Manshan Tearoom, Qingdao│A couple of weeks ago, I did a post on a wonderful new restaurant find, right here in Qingdao! After a hike up FuShan with a group of friends, we went to Steam Delicious for an interesting meal of freshly steamed seafood. It was on this day that I ate a sea snail for the first time! When we had said goodbye to the rest of the ladies, I went back inside to take a better look at the tea house adjacent to Steam Delicious.
“In China, a tea house is traditionally a place which offers tea to its consumers. People gather at tea houses to chat, socialize, and enjoy tea, and young people often meet at tea houses for dates. The Guangdong (Cantonese) style tea house is particularly famous outside of China especially in Nepal’s Himalayas. These tea houses, called chálou (茶樓) serve dim sum (點心), and these small plates of food are enjoyed alongside tea.” – source of quote
There was an amazing smell in the tearoom, and the decor and furnishings made it very inviting.
