This was the view that I had all of this weekend… I could barely move from the couch on Sunday because I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I guess this could be me moving from the second into the third trimester. Although I also haven’t been feeling that great for the past week, so perhaps I am coming down with something. People here in China tend to just sneeze and cough without the decency of covering their mouths, so their germs spray everywhere.
That being said – I am either moving into the third trimester VERY quickly, or I am fighting off some terribly nasty germs. I have a cold sore on my mouth too (very sexy), so that leads me to think that my immune system is low and I need to take it easy. I have therefore decided to do AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE whenever possible. I have students carrying my computer to and from class, I am sitting down whenever I can, and I am not expecting too much from myself. It’s hard to control a classroom of nearly 30 children when you are sitting down, but at this point my health is more important than maintaining control over rowdy kids.
Poor Justin now has to push me up the stairs to get us to our office on the third floor in the mornings. I have to admit that I am a quite disappointed that I didn’t start out this pregnancy as fit as I usually am, because I feel that I wouldn’t be panting and out of breath the way that I am now. Maybe further along in the third trimester, but not so much at this point. Justin says that I have high expectations for myself but it’s okay to let those go a little for now. I know that this is one of the things that he loves about me – so I will try not to let them go for too long.
Thankfully I feel MUCH better today than I did yesterday, so we’ll be praying that we have more up than down days as we progress into the third trimester this week. And above all, let’s hope that this mommy-to-be doesn’t get ill in the next few weeks! I still have about 13 weeks until baby is due, and I will be working full-time for that duration too.
Send me some healthy-vibes so I can keep my usual spring in my step for a little longer.
