November Ladies Hike│On Tuesday, Eli and I went hiking with some friends. Once again we were all ladies – the hubbies were off at work. Good men! We have decided to do this on a monthly basis. Every four weeks, we will meet on a Tuesday morning and hike up FuShan. Our intention is to keep going, even when the coldest of cold months hit! There are numerous path options – so we could never get bored. This was our second FuShan hike as a group of ladies, but we went up as a different group this time. Only Tash and I had done the October one, and this week we were joined by two different friends. The ladies from our October hike were not available to hike this Tuesday. Check out THIS VIDEO blog from our last hike.
It was my intention to make this a “vlog day”, but as Eli and I were leaving I decided not to take my DSLR. Instead, I grabbed my small camera… and after leaving, realized that there was not much battery power left on it. This was probably a good thing though because I was on day 14 of my juice fast, and I wanted to focus on taking it easy. Having to think about filming, hiking, and carrying Eli, can get tiring. I wasn’t even sure that I could make it up the mountain with little man on my back, but my friends offered to help, so I decided to give it a shot!
After heavy rain the day before, the skies were clear and it was a beautiful morning for a hike!
Above, There’s my little man on Tash’s back. All three of the ladies that I hiked with very graciously offered to take a turn carrying Eli up. They knew that I was on a juice fast and they wanted to help me along. What great support – Thanks Ladies!
After the hike we walked to a coffee shop, and sat down to relax for an hour or two. We were determined to find this cafe – “Fascination” – so we walked quite a distance to get there. When we turned a corner and found it, we were all so happy! Inside was warm and cozy. The ladies LOVED the coffee, and I had a cup of tea.
Eli watched a show, and munched on snacks, while we chatted away. One of the ladies had brought along cooked chicken, and another had made healthy bars. Eli basically devoured a chicken leg and three bars, and then kept reaching onto the table for more food. He was one super hungry boy.
On the way home… Some sleepy snuggles!
This was a good hike! I was surprised by my abilities, despite being so far into a juice fast. Initinally I was apprehensive about hiking on a juice fast, but I am so glad that we went. This is a great way to bond with friends (old and new), get some exercise, and enjoy this city that we live in! Our next hike is in three weeks, and I won’t be on a juice fast then!!
