One More Before We Go
This is our last official “story” from Prague (although there will be a Wandering-post coming your way tomorrow). On our last evening in Prague, as we were heading back to the Metro, we decided that we needed ONE MORE STOP! We ended off our Prague experience in the exact same place where we started it – at a little Sausage and Pivo stand.
A quote from that first Pivo and beer experience…
“The Czech Republic is widely known for two things – beer and sausage! Before we saw anything, or did anything… we knew that as soon as we arrived in Prague, we had to have a Czech beer (“Pivo”) and a sausage (“klob”)! The sausage stands in Prague are an institution. They are greasy, they are noisy but above all they serve food people crave for. Spicy sausages and Frankfurters sizzle on the griddle. Served with a slice of brown bread this is a meal in itself. A big plop of mustard and a plastic glass of premium Czech beer complete your culinary masterpiece. Pay first, get your food and wedge yourself a spot at one of the stand-up tables.”
Hmmm… there it is!
This time we tried a slightly spicer version of “klob” , and in a bun this time – just to change things up. We bought two, and each gave the little man a few bites. Below, I have no idea why he looks like he is half-awake/ dizzy – I think that he was just THAT INTO HIS BITE of the sausage roll.
Goodbye beautiful Prague city!
We then made our way back to our apartment to pack up our belongings and get ready for the next leg of our Czech Republic adventure: Český Krumlov.
What a beautiful city, with fine food, and so much to see!
