Our Reception: Part 2
Today we would like to share some more pictures from our Wedding Reception which took place at Nelson’s Creek in the Mountain View Room. After the speeches, food, cutting of the cake, and then opening of the dance floor, we spent the rest of the night dancing, laughing, and having a blast! It really is no understatement that your wedding flies by quicker than a blink of an eye. We wish that all of this joyfulness could have gone on for days!! If you missed part 1, you can link to it here – Our Reception: The Formalities. It was wonderful to see all of our friends and family in the dance floor, and having a great time together. We will never forget these moments, and here are a few of them…
This was the first time Justin remembers dancing with his Mom.
It was a very special moment for him.
Love love love my daddy! What a sweet picture!!!
The boys brought the photo booth props out to the dance floor.
Uncle Norman showed all the ladies how to break it down.
My cousins, Belinda, has given birth to her baby boy since this day. She was pregnant at the wedding. Doesn’t she look beautiful? She is the oldest out of all my cousins and I.
Uncle Fafa thought that it was so awesome that Dustin had changed into flip flops (plakkies) for the reception. Dustin wears flip flops to every occasion and even wore them throughout his own wedding. I spoke with him before the day and asked him to wear black shoes for the ceremony, but told him he could wear whatever he wished for the reception.
Dustin went “bos”when the song Gangnam Style came on. It also came on at the same time that most of us were all wearing wigs, feathers, and hats to take crazy photos at the photo booth. Hence, the pink boa.
My beautiful friend, and bridesmaid, Tarrin caught my bouquet. Well. To be honest, it hit her very hard in the chest and scratched her up a bit. Oops! It seems that I tossed it with too much force.
My Uncle Fafa was behind Justin trying to teach the men a funny Afrikaans-inspired dance. Justin, of course, had no idea and was simply following the photographers lead on when to throw my garter. The men were not even a minute into learning how to stand (for the dance) and Justin was already throwing the garter over his shoulder. His older brother, Nick, caught it.
Words can not describe how completely insane we were about each other on this evening. Hopefully we didn’t offend anyone by not mingling enough, but we really just enjoyed the evening together and did not want to separate by splitting up to talk to people. It was our wedding, and we wanted to remember it the way that it should be spent: Together.
Justin and I could not stop smiling at each other, and some of my fondest memories of the evening are of dancing and giggling with my husband on the dance floor. We loved every second of it. There were many moments where we felt like there was not a single person in the room except for the two of us.
There have been a couple of times since this evening where we hear a song and it takes us right back to that fantastic night, surrounded by our loved ones, and feeling like we were walking on clouds. This really was a perfect day. A day that completely sums up Justin and I – Completely full of love!!
