We waited until a few days after Thanksgiving to put our tree up. I am sure that we would have put it up the day after Thanksgiving had we not been in Beijing. Sadly our tree looks a little small in our new apartment, but it does fit in great with the decor and furniture so we are happy with how it looks in the corner of our lounge. Elijah hasn’t tried to pull it over , but he does like pushing the buttons which control the speed at which the lights flicker. He is now in the stage of “switches” and anything can can me turned on and off, will be played with until we take him to another room. Sometimes he sits at the lamp and turns it on and off for ages. Thankfully, that is all that he does and he doesn’t try to pull down anything. The ornaments are all still on the tree. During the first couple of days he liked to take two down and walk around with them, but he seems to be over that and the tree remains unscathed. I won’t be surprised if he does pull it over one day though because he likes to roll toys under the tree, and then crawl below the bottom branches to get them.
Here are some pictures of us putting up the tree, and a few others of the decorations around our “Home Sweet Home”. Gosh we sure do enjoy this apartment very much. It is such a blessing to us!!

We made all of our newest Christmas decorations this year, and we love the rustic-feel that they have brought to our home. Like this one… (below) It was a joined effort between Justin and I. We keep changing the message ~ Gotta love chalkboard paint!
This gold frame with lights behind it. I know ~ genius!
It looks amazing at night when all the lights are out. I’ll try get a picture of that before Christmas.
It was super easy to do, and you could pretty much do this with any large frame and a wreath. The frame was already gold, which fits in perfectly with our current decor theme. I used thumb tacks to fasten the lights to the back of the frame… not through the wire, dah! There was a handy ridge that I ran the wire along.
I didn’t want to hang our pretty Christmas wreath outside our front door. We’re in China, we live on the top floor of our building, and it’s super dusty here… there’s really no point. I much prefer looking at it, so inside the house it shall stay. I attached it to the gold frame with a white ribbon.
Trying on the Reindeer ears. Now all he needs is his sidekick, Chara!

I better stop there… I miss our friends so much it makes me want to cry!!
Whhhhhhhy did all of you leave??
Justin’s mom sent us back to China with a bag of “snowballs”. They must contain some sort of memory foam because they feel really cool, and Eli loves carrying them around. Daddy and Elijah had some fun while we decorated our home…
And last, but not least, here is our dining room wall converted from Autumn-Decor to Winter:
Not long to go now folks! Christmas is right around the corner. We hope that all of you have your trees up! This certainly is the most a,aging time of the year, and we are looking forward to Christmas Day. Justin only gets that one day off, but with Christmas falling on a Friday this year, and nice three day weekend it will be for us.
