For those of you who don’t know, Peter and Irina are friends that we met in South Korea while teaching. Peter was studying and Irina was teaching, like us. We met them at the church that we attended in Bundang. We didn’t get to know them until just before we all left Korea. We stayed at their apartment shortly before we moved to China. We swore that we would meet up when we were all in America… and this year we got the opportunity to do that. They flew from Oregon to Dallas, and they stayed with us for a week. We did a few things while they were here, but there were a number of hours spent just relaxing by the pool. Here are some of those pictures…
Peter and Justin playing volleyball.
Irina likes to cool off with the hose.
I like to stay hot. Yes, I’m crazy.
It was great catching up while relaxing in the sun.
On the night that they arrived in Dallas, we made fajitas. Hmm.. Delicious!!
Peter likes playing cards and this was great news to Grandma Marge who is raised with cards in her hands.
We visited Whole Foods to get some snacks…
The yummy part was trying the tasters.
One evening we went to BJ’s Brewhouse for dinner. Nick ordered this Pazooki for us when it was time for dessert. It was MASSIVE and unbelievably delicious!!! It’s a hot GIANT COOKIE with ice cream on top of it. There were four types of cookie on this jumbo tray – some of us swore the peanut butter cookie was better, others insisted that the macadamia nut cookie was the winner. We all dug in so quickly that we were full within minutes. The five of us didn’t make it through the whole cookie!!
Watching Justin and Nick play softball.
Peter, Irina and I tried to stay cool on the bleachers.
